Katherine and Gene reached out to us about a full home window replacement on their Shandwick Place home in the Greystone community off Highway 280. Built in 1994, the house still carried every one of its original windows, and after three decades they had reached the end of their service life.
The previous owners had not kept up with maintenance, and it showed. Frames were rotting, the seals had given out, and conditioned air was escaping all year long. Heating and cooling costs had climbed well past where they should have been for a home this size, and the tired look of the old windows was pulling down the exterior of an otherwise beautiful property.

Before installation, they home owner raised a concern we hear often: she thought the Low E glass looked green, and she was considering adding tint to correct the color.
It is a fair thing to notice. Low E coatings are microscopically thin layers of metal oxide applied to the glass surface, and depending on the coating and the light hitting it, samples can carry a faint tint in a showroom or on a small sample square. What almost never gets communicated is how different that reads once the glass is installed in a full size opening, in daylight, in your own home.
Once the windows went in, she loved the look and decided nothing needed to change. No tint, no adjustments. The concern resolved itself the moment the glass was in the wall where it belonged.
This project came to us through Mason D, the general contractor handling the clients' interior remodel. Greg had built a relationship with Mason over time, and when the window portion of the job came up, the family wanted a referral they could trust rather than a name off a search page.
That matters more than it might sound. The Clients had several home projects running at once, which means trades stacking up, materials staged in the driveway, and a schedule where one crew running long pushes everyone else back. Our team coordinated directly with the GC so the window install slotted cleanly into the larger remodel instead of competing with it.
Homeowners taking on a whole home renovation do not need one more contractor to manage. We worked the schedule around the remodel and kept the site clean and secure throughout.

Our favorite part of this one was the before and after. The original 1994 windows were in genuinely poor condition, and replacing them changed the entire face of the house. The new sandstone frames sharpened the exterior lines and gave the home the curb appeal it should have had all along.
Inside, the homeowners get what they were actually after: a home that holds its temperature, an HVAC system that is no longer working overtime, and energy bills that reflect a 2026 home instead of a 1994 one.

The neighborhoods off Highway 280 and Hugh Daniel Drive went up largely in the late 1980s and 1990s, which means a whole generation of original windows is failing at roughly the same time. Homeowners here want work that respects both the property and the neighborhood standard.
