We recently had the pleasure of working with a local couple on a full-home window and door replacement in Vestavia Hills. Jo and Tim came to us through a mutual connection at Grace Klein Community, a nonprofit we have partnered with for years, and their home on Dolly Ridge Road, built in 1985, still carried its original windows and entry doors.
After nearly four decades, those windows had reached the end of the road, letting in drafts and driving up energy bills while the two entry doors had grown dated in both look and performance. It was time to bring the home up to modern standards of comfort and efficiency while keeping the warmth that made it theirs.

Jo and Tim wanted three things from this project: windows that would seal tight and ease the load on their HVAC, a refreshed and current look for the front of the home, and a brighter, clearer connection to the garden and yard they love. The products were an easy call. The one real question mark was the grids.
Jo went back and forth on whether to keep the grids on her new windows. They had always been part of the home's character, and letting them go felt like a big change. She ultimately chose to go gridless, then admitted she lost a little sleep second guessing it. It is a familiar moment in an established home like this one, where every update has to balance modern performance against the character the owners fell in love with.

This one tested our crew. Installation landed in the thick of an Alabama August, with the heat index pushing past 100 degrees for days on end. Throughout the job, our team kept things moving without cutting corners. We finished all 37 windows and both entry doors in just three days, with no setbacks beyond the temperature. Careful sequencing and an experienced crew kept everything on schedule and up to standard.

The moment the windows went in, that worry vanished. Without the grids, the new windows pulled in far more natural light and opened a clean, unobstructed view of the garden. Jo told us she now looks forward to that view every single morning, that she is completely in love with the result, and that she only wished she had done it sooner.
When we stopped back to check in after the job, she and Tim invited us inside just to look out the windows with them again. That kind of moment is exactly why we love what we do. It is not just about replacing windows and doors, it is about helping Birmingham-area families invest in homes they truly love.

Vestavia Hills is full of established over-the-mountain neighborhoods where well built homes from the 1980s and 1990s are now reaching the age where original windows start to fail. Homeowners here who want window replacement in Vestavia Hills care about curb appeal, comfort, and keeping the character of their street intact.
Every home and every homeowner is different. For a look at a different kind of project nearby, see a Vestavia Hills window project focused on resale value, where the goal was curb appeal ahead of a sale rather than a full window and door transformation.
