Three years ago this month, in August of 2023, we filed the paperwork that made The Window Source of Birmingham official. At the time, it was Greg Mihaly and one installer, Mike Jones, out of a small shop with a truck, a set of ladders, and the belief that Birmingham homeowners deserved a window company that actually did what it said it would do.
Three years later, we're looking around and thinking: we can't quite believe it either.
So before we get back to installing windows and answering the phone and driving out to consultations across the metro, we wanted to take a minute to say thank you, share a few numbers that still feel a little surreal to us, and celebrate the people who made all of this possible.
Since we opened our doors in 2023, we've installed nearly 4,000 windows in homes across the Birmingham metro. Historic bungalows in Forest Park. Ranch homes in Hoover. Lake houses on Smith Lake and Logan Martin. Two-story family homes in Trussville and Moody. Every one of them a different puzzle, every one of them a chance to do the work right.
That number still catches us off guard when we say it out loud. Nearly 4,000 windows means nearly 4,000 openings measured, ordered, delivered, and installed. It means thousands of trips up and down ladders. It means countless conversations with homeowners about which style fits, which glass package makes sense for their exposure, and which trade-offs matter for their budget.
More than a number, though, it represents nearly 4,000 opportunities to earn a homeowner's trust, and we take every single one of those seriously.

Growth is nice. What we're actually proud of is that the same people who helped us start are still with us. Mike Jones has installed windows in Birmingham for three straight years under this roof, and he's still the one setting the standard for how our crews do the work. That kind of continuity is rare, and we don't take it for granted.
