Susan, a retired interior designer, had a clear vision for this project: modern functionality with a faithful nod to the home's original style. We understood that her design background meant she’d value thoughtful details, and that inspired us to exceed expectations at every step, and address a few concerns. The biggest? Maintaining the classic look of her 1950s bungalow while upgrading to energy-efficient windows.
Together, we carefully reviewed mock-ups and trim options to ensure the new windows aligned with her aesthetic goals. After a few iterations, we landed on a design that everyone was excited about.
We also addressed Susan's concerns about lead-safe practices due to the age of her home. Our team followed all EPA guidelines and ensured the workspace remained safe and clean throughout.

"This company surpassed all my expectations and did a great job replacing 13 windows in my 1950’s home. Greg and Mike were wonderful to work with and everything was finished in less than the time first quoted. The windows give my house a clean look inside and out which I didn’t expect. As a retired interior designer I am familiar with being dissatisfied on home improvement projects like this. It was a refreshing change to see such good work. I highly recommend them."

Replacing windows in a mid-century bungalow like this one is rarely straightforward. These homes were often built with materials and construction methods no longer common in modern builds, and this project was no exception.
The original windows were metal casements embedded in masonry and plaster. Removing them required precision and care to avoid damaging the interior walls or the surrounding wood trim, which Susan wanted to preserve. Many openings were out of square due to settling over the decades, which meant we had to custom fit and shim each unit for a perfect seal.
The home’s exterior was clad in original Shaker-style siding, which posed its own challenge. Each window had to be trimmed out in a way that matched the old-world craftsmanship of the existing architecture. Because standard vinyl trim wouldn’t cut it, we fabricated custom exterior finishes to complement the home’s proportions and style.
Fortunately, our lead installer brought 18 years of hands-on experience to the table. His attention to detail and craftsmanship made all the difference. Despite the complexities, we finished the project ahead of schedule.
